Exciting new adventure!

This will be my last post on this blog.  Sad. But exciting at the same time!

Why?

I have joined forces with Zoë Portrait Art to start a weddings division!  I’m super excited to see where this new adventure takes us.  Please go see their our ( :) ) blog here and subscribe so you won’t miss a beat!  I will be publishing my first post on the Zoë blog later this morning!

Yes……I will now ONLY be focusing on everything about wedding photography including engagements, bridals, etc., but that doesn’t mean you lose a portrait photographer.  Those of you that have used me in the past, please check out Maggie and Cheryl at Zoë Portrait Art for those needs! They are amazing!  If you have any questions about how to get in touch with them, please let me know and I’ll get you together!

I also want to say thank you so very much to all of the clients that helped me to build KB Candids Photography! You are all amazing!  Without you, I wouldn’t be able to take this next step in my photography career!

Happy Monday…hope you all have a wonderful week!

Beginning {52 on Friday} | Searcy, AR Photography

This week our theme for the 52-week project is “beginning.”
Honestly, the past couple of weeks has been a whirlwind to me.  So much so, that I didn’t think about this theme until Wednesday.
Even then…..it didn’t dawn on me quite yet (thanks to Cheryl for the kick in the head) what a perfect theme it is for such an exciting time.
What excitement am I talking about.
Follow the images to see.

Beginning. The first things I think about are streets, doors, stairs….things that are a beginning to something or a start to somewhere. Here is an open door. A door that is a beginning to……

a staircase, that is a beginning to……

A New Beginning.

At the end of last year/first of this year, I did some heavy thinking and praying about my business. I knew what I wanted, but I had decided that I was going to let God take the lead. How hard is that? SUPER hard for me. I want to be in control; I want to know the outcome; I want to mold it to what I want it to be.  But….as hard as it was (still is), I turned it over to Him. And what a surprise. I believe He has opened a door. If you will, a door to a staircase, and a staircase to an opportunity and answer to prayer. I have been asked to join Zoe Portrait Art for Zoe Weddings. Maggie, Cheryl, and Kristen, you are all an answer to prayer….really. I can’t wait to see what this first year holds. I know it will be a hard road of work ahead, but only good things can come from it if we all work together!

One of my favorite verses:  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV.

Two links for you this week. One to the Zoe blog to see what they have to say about this awesome new adventure we are on. And the next to the blog of the very talented Jon Yoder, here, for his take on the 52 project.  Keep going and follow the circle! :)

Happy Friday everyone!!!!

Marlsgate Plantation Wedding | Arkansas Wedding Photography

This is one place that I have always wanted to visit. Seriously. Even if I wasn’t ever given the opportunity to shoot a wedding there, I wanted to at least go see it! Since I was a little girl, I always dreamed of living on a plantation and being a southern belle. Let’s just say, Gone With The Wind is my absolute all-time favorite classic movie. ***** A movie, mind you, I had on VHS and literally watched a hundred times, until one day my husband taped over with a football game that he just could not miss. How could he do that??!!! It had “GONE WITH THE WIND” in large bold letters along the tape’s spine. Needless to say, I have never let him live that one down.*****

When Laura called me up and asked me to help shoot a wedding at Marlsgate, I just about died. Really. I prayed, as I opened my calendar, that I didn’t have anything booked that day. And…….Woohoo! I was free!!!

The best part of the day……there was a miscommunication regarding preparation time, and we were there early. EARLY!! Enough time to walk around the gardens, get a tour of the house, and daydream about what it would be like to live there. I was living in a dream that day. For real!

To start, I want to post images of the house, grounds, gardens, with the dream-like light, so don’t get too bored with it because there are wedding images to follow!

And now for the wedding images.

Laura, thank you so much for asking me along! Now, go check out her blog post here for the full wedding day story and images.

Taylor + Megan |Searcy, AR Wedding Photography|

This October day promised of sunshine and puffy clouds. And it did not disappoint. Not only did the sky shine with beautiful light, so did this entire family. They all were so loving and generous and completely happy for Megan and Taylor. The day went off without a hitch. With many thanks to Beverly Edwards who kept it flowing so smoothly.

Megan and Taylor…you both are beautiful inside and out. I’m so very thankful that you chose me to document your day and welcomed me into your lives. Many many blessings on your new journey in life as one. I know you two will be able to conquer ANYTHING together! Love you guys!!!

{Chelsea + Rusty} White Hall, Arkansas Wedding Photography

Love and laughter definitely emanated from this entire day.  I am so very glad that I was able to be a part of it.

Although, I am family and would have been in attendance at the wedding even if I had not been photographing it.

But …..there is something about taking photos on a wedding day.  You feel the intimate responses, emotions, and love 10 times more for some reason.  Maybe this is just my warped sense of romance.  But… I’m sticking with it! :)   So I thank you so much for allowing me to capture your day!

Congratulations Chelsea and Rusty.  Many many blessings on you and the start of your little family.  Give Harper a squeeze for me!

Ok Guys….really?? Just watch it fall and land with your hands in your pockets? CATCH THAT GARTER!!! :)

Jacalyn + Brandon | Beebe, AR Wedding Photography

I met Jackie and Brandon in March when we got together for their engagement session.  You can see those here.  I just can’t believe time has flown so fast and now I am now posting their wedding photos.   And.  I have to say…….this was the most fluid, flawless, on time wedding I have ever been to.  When Jackie told me that her mother knew what she was doing because she was the last of three daughters to get married, boy was she right! This family has weddings down to a science!! Everything was perfect!

Jackie and Brandon….you are both absolutely beautiful (and handsome :) ) inside and out.  I wish you both many blessings in your new life together.  I feel extremely honored to have been a part of your most important day!

Also a HUGE thanks to Erin Bunting for shooting with me!

Jackie’s Bridals | Beebe, AR Wedding Photography

Jackie….what can I say? She is radiant! I was having a very hard time narrowing down portraits for the wedding blog post, so I decided to post her bridals first! We started out in the foyer of the church (where the light was beautiful) and then ventured outside for a very short time. It was so hot that Saturday, like it has been lately here in Arkansas, almost unbearably hot….but I couldn’t pass up the chance to get some bridals for her under the wisteria vine outside. Absolutely beautiful! Be sure and leave her some blog love!

{Adam + Kim} An Enchanting Evening, Roland AR | Wedding Photography

You know there are just some people that once you meet them, you feel like you have known them for years.    Adam and Kim are “those” people.   I’ve known them only since September of last year, when we met at our consult.  But yet….I really do feel like I have known them forever.  From their engagement session, chats in between, road trip to the venue and dinner afterwards, more chats, Kim’s bridal session, to the day…..it makes me very proud to have been a part of this exciting part of their lives.

The day started off hot at sun up.  Wow….it was literally a melting kind of day.   But even an Arkansas heatwave couldn’t keep this day from happening.  Everyone was intent on getting things finished and beautiful!  And boy was it…..BEAUTIFUL.   The venue itself is absolutely amazing (as you will see in pictures below), but the touch of decorations that splashed color here and there made it seem absolutely magical.

Special thanks to Laura and Jerry for shooting with me!
